Extron Electronics’ HAE 100 is an audio de-embedder that extracts the audio from the HDMI signal and provides simultaneous outputs for analog stereo and digital S/PDIF audio. The HAE 100 supports data rates up to 6.75 Gbps for compatibility with HDMI 1.3 Deep Color. It is HDCP compliant and compatible with HDTV 1080p/60 or computer-video resolutions up to 1920x1200. The HAE 100 is equipped with several integrator-friendly features, including a buffered HDMI video output with EDID Minder for simplified EDID management between the input source and the display, plus input cable equalization and comprehensive LED status display.

Roland Systems Group’s MVS-12 multi-viewer/ switcher can group and display up to 12 SD video signals to a single HD or RGB monitor. This multi-viewer is a companion for the line of Edirol SD video mixers such as the LVS-800 and V-8. The MVS-12 is ideal for many applications where users need to preview multiple video sources at once such as in worship, school, corporate, rental, and event applications. The MVS-12 is designed to eliminate the need for individual preview monitors, combining 12 SD inputs into one LCD display. In addition to the multi-viewer function the MVS-12 has a built-in matrix switcher allowing up to 12 video sources to be routed to up to four separate outputs such as separate rooms, screens, or web-streaming devices for live broadcasts.

Altinex’s CP452-009 In-Wall Multi- Touch Panel is designed around the Intel Atom processor and features an embedded solid state hard disk drive. The CP452-009 provides smooth, tactile, on-screen slider movement for control over volume, lighting, and similar incremental adjustments. It also features an 8.9- inch color screen.

Stewart Filmscreen and Crestron have released a customized Crestron device-driver for the operation of Stewart Filmscreen control technology products, including motorized screens and LED lighting systems. The driver enables Crestron dealers and programmers to easily integrate control of Stewart screens and lighting products into any Crestron operating system, and is available now for download on the Crestron website. The Crestron driver package supports Stewart’s IMC-100 intelligent motor controller family of state of the art motor control for projection screens and window coverings. These controllers are integral to a wide range of Stewart products that include the Cabaret and Americana projection screens, as well as many other Stewart automation products.

With a 532 MHz i.MX processor and 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory, RTI’s XP-3 improves the whole user experience by providing a much higher degree of control and automation than using a stand-alone remote control. The processor offers a value with a feature set that includes a built-in astronomical time clock for time-based events, in addition to support for ZigBee RF transmission to allow bidirectional communications with compatible RTI remote controls and third-party electronics. The multipurpose I/O port is intended to accept a standard IR emitter input or can be used with RTI accessory devices to sense voltage or video to manage the power status and deliver intelligent control of thirdparty connected devices.

Sennheiser’s SK 5212-II bodypack transmitter features a switching bandwidth of up to 184 MHz and has a special mode for more interference-free transmission frequencies. This is designed to allow sound engineers to adapt to worldwide transmission conditions more easily and avoid interference from other transmitters with the same channel separation and signal immunity that they are accustomed to. In addition to a wider switching bandwidth, another new feature of the SK 5212-II bodypack transmitter is the low intermodulation mode, which significantly reduces transmitter intermodulation.

The HDAiR is Atlona Technologies’ USB-to-HDMI wireless converter. Today, Atlona announces new features for the HDAiR including point to multipoint, and Macintosh compatibility. The first release of the HDAiR in 2009 was a video-only solution. The new HDAiR has the ability to output audio in both 3.5mm analog, as well as embedded on the HDMI output, making it a viable solution for a much broader range of users. This latest update to the HDAiR allows users to connect up to four receivers to a single transmitter, making it even more beneficial in educational environments, as well as localized digital signage and retail.

Electro-Voice’s new additions to its RE-2PRO wireless microphone line include the WTU-2 compact bodypack and the PHTU-2 handheld transmitter. The RE-2PRO is a programmable wireless system featuring Electro-Voice’s one-touch Auto-ClearScan function. Equipped with an array of features derived from the REV system and offering the performance of the RE-2 system, the RE-2PRO offers of wired sound quality.

PESA’s new Sabertooth fiber optic miniextenders are designed to transport SD/ HD/3G-SDI video over long distances using just one fiber optic cable. As one of the smallest profile coax-to-fiber and fiber-to-coax digital video media converters, the Sabertooth has a diameter of 0.55-inches and is only 3.14-inches long. They provide high performance media conversion between BNC equipped 75-Ohm coax and LC connector- style single mode or multimode fiber cable. With a diameter smaller than a BNC connector, the Sabertooth is designed for the tightest possible unit-tounit pitch available making them ideal for sharing fiber and coax connections on a standard BNC-based router.

Kramer Electronics’ VP-200N5 is a high-performance, HDTV compatible distribution amplifier for computer graphics video signals with resolutions up to and exceeding UXGA. The unit accepts one computer graphic input, provides buffering and isolation, and then distributes the signal to two identical outputs on a high-density 15-pin HD connector. The VP-200N5 has a video bandwidth of 370MHz, to ensure performance with high-resolution graphics modes such as UXGA.

Mackie has introduced two mid-format analog consoles, each featuring dual internal FX processors, dedicated compression and four-track recording via USB. Mackie VLZ3 4-Bus Premium FX Mixers with USB deliver performance in a compact design with the channel count needed for SR applications. The Mackie 2404-VLZ3 and 3204-VLZ3 feature low-noise, high-headroom XDR2 mic channels and two dedicated channels for stereo inputs. Inline compression is available on each of the four subgroups and on four select channels. Dual 32-bit RMFX effects processors offer 16 presets, including tap delay.

AMX’s ViewStat Color Communicating Thermostat comes with a 3.5-inch color display and is programmable for automatic scheduling, automatic temperature, and relative humidity adjustments and features an EPArecommended comfort recovery mode that incrementally adjusts indoor temperatures to achieve desired settings prior to a residents’ arrival. The ViewStat features a seven-day programmable, four-set-point interface and displays the five-day weather forecast for a convenient way to manage the heating and cooling in a home, business or any other environment. OWI’s AMP-1SGRN green speaker amplifier recently earned UL Environment’s Energy Efficiency Certification Mark for Energy Star compliance. The AMP- 1SGRN Speaker Amplifier integrates audio along with an emergency paging solution through its priority override. Audio on the priority input suspends the audio on the normal input and switches the speaker amplifier to pass the priority audio. This feature is becoming more important to handle any emergency from natural disasters to other situations such as lockdowns.

Audio-Technica’s ATCS-60 IR is a self-contained wireless distributed audio system using infrared communications technology, designed for corporate, government, and educational applications. The system offers many practical features, providing ease of setup and operation, and eliminating the need for microphone wiring and ceiling speakers. The ATCS-60 IR conference system offers all the advantages of infrared communication, including security, high noise immunity, and low power requirements and features wireless microphone units. As a result, it offers more flexibility, with freedom to easily change microphone locations and system configurations. Even for a conference scenario of over 100 participants, the setup takes far less time than other conference systems.

Midas’ PRO9 is a new addition to its PRO Series of digital audio systems that includes the PRO3 and the PRO6. PRO9 features an 88 channel input count and 35 buses, with the dual stage boxes offering placement flexibility up to 200m apart and 500m from the FOH position. The PRO9 benefits from the full range of Midas I/O box options, including the DL251 fixed format stage box and the DL431 24 channel five-way mic splitter offering three mic preamps per channel and dual digital network connections, both with full redundancy. The range also includes the new Klark Teknik DN9650 digital format converter offering connectivity to many different digital protocols, including MADI and Dante.

OmniMount’s HM1 is a flat panel furniture mount that offers quality construction and built-in security for flat panels up to 37-inches. The HM1 is the first product offering by the company targeted specifically to the hospitality market. OmniMount’s HM1 was designed for situations where wall mounting a flat panel isn’t preferred or possible. Sound-Craft Systems offers permanently mounted i-Pod/i-Phone docking stations as an option on its lecterns and workstations. Both basic and deluxe models are offered, allowing the user to select the model that best meets their intended application. Expansion units for the Clark ModBox system are available in two types, self-contained breakout modules or flat panel bulkhead mount connectors. Breakout type modules feature electrical and fiber connectors on the back-panel to facilitate local onsite termination, eliminating the need for specialized tooling and labor. Flat Panel bulkhead expansion units are pre-punched connector mounts that allow cable-terminated, bulkhead style connectors to be mounted in the ModBox frame. Wohler’s closed caption video monitor adaptor decodes and renders closed caption subtitles for any video monitor to display, conveniently allowing the operator to confirm the presence and accuracy of critical video and caption data using existing monitors that lack caption display capability. Suitable for any point in the broadcast or production chain, this small, externally-powered unit translates an HD/SDSDI multi-rate input containing closed captioning signaling into a burned-in HD/SD-SDI or DVI signal with open captions added to the picture. The CD-1 is designed to automatically detect and decode WST, OP-47, and EIA-608/EIA-708 subtitles. Output options include two open-caption HD/SDI outputs, a DVI open-caption output, and an RS-232 output of closed caption contents.

ComNet’s ValueLine FVT/FVR812 transmits eight channels of digitally encoded video with two data channels over a single optical fiber. Suitable for use in unconditioned roadside or out-of plant installations, the FVT/FVR812 is compatible with NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video transmission protocols and supports bidirectional RS232, 422, and 485 data. Bi-Color LED indicators are provided to indicate the status of the system, video, and data. These units may be directly plugged into the ComNet Rack or they can operate as standalone modules.
