Digital Signage Federation (DSF), the independent not-for-profit trade
organization
serving the digital
signage industry, has created a new Standards Committee.
Ken Goldberg,
CEO, Real Digital Media, has
accepted the appointment to Chair the new committee, which will set
standards
for key issues such as:

Measurement
·
Integration and
Messaging
·
Reporting
·
Semantics
·
Privacy
Recognizing the need for standards,
and the opportunity to act both as a strong voice in unifying and
enhancing
existing standards and as a leader in breaking new ground, this will be a
permanent committee on standards whose responsibility will be to
endorse,
establish and advocate standards that will pave a road toward a stronger
and
more efficient industry.
Rich Cooley,
Chairman of the
Digital
Signage Federation also announced the appointment of industry
professionals who will Chair the other five committees announced
previously.
Those who have accepted appointments include:
· Jack
Sullivan, Senior Vice
President, Out-of-Home Media Director, StarCom World Wide will Chair the
Advocacy/Outreach Committee, established to identify
programs and activities that have an external focus to improve the
visibility,
understanding and appreciation of the digital signage industry and makes
recommendations to the Board of Directors for position statements.

Robert Stowe,
Director, Marketing Services, Wendy's International will Chair
the Budget/Finance
Committee to assist the Board of
Directors with the DSF financial policies and strategy, including review
of the
annual operation budget.

Alan Brawn, Principal, Brawn
Consulting will Chair the Education Committee
dedicated to
creating and
disseminating an educational program that will result in member
companies
operating more professionally, productively, profitably and responsibly.
· Carre Dawson, Director, Business Development,
Digital Signage,
Harris Corporation
Broadcast Communications will chair the Legislative/
Government Affairs Committee
to develop programs to support the
advancement of digital signage rights and improve legislation,
regulations,
codes and standards that affect the sale and use of digital signage and
interactive technologies.

Jennifer Bolt, Executive
Director, Media Services & Innovation, Tracy Locke Advertising will
Chair
the
Membership Committee providing guidance on efforts to
recruit and retain members to the organization, and recommends programs,
services and benefits to promote the overall interests of the digital signage
industry.
Cooley, said, “We are very fortunate to
have such dedicated industry champions accept these leadership roles to
help
plan for the future, propel our industry forward and volunteer to work
to
benefit all of our members who now number
over 300 members in 33 countries.”
