TORONTO, ON, CANADA—Adamson has
established an exclusive Canadian
distribution deal with Theatrixx, a
distributor of lighting, video, and
recently professional audio equipment. The Montreal-based firm also
manufactures cable distribution and
AC distribution systems for local and
export markets.

“Though I come from an audio
background, our distribution has
been focused on lighting and video for
the past few years,” said
Jacques Tessier, founder
and CEO of Theatrixx.
“We wanted to expand into audio
with a high-end product line. Adamson
is clearly one of three dominant
players in our eyes, when you look to
quality and performance. It’s built in
Canada, and the local market penetration
is at a fraction of the potential.
We recently finished some interesting
projects with Adamson products, and
we were amazed by the sound quality,
overall engineering, and construction.
With their current product line up,
team, and market potential, it is now
the perfect time to make the move. It
was an obvious choice.”
Visix Expands
ATLANTA, GA—Visix has relocated its Atlanta
headquarters to a larger facility, allowing the
company to add 20 employees locally. The
modern 14,000-square-foot facility is twice
the size of the company’s former headquarters,
seats up to 47 employees, and supports
plans for growth through 2015. Included in
the new layout are discreet software isolation
and hardware testing labs, a multi-purpose
training room, a network operations center,
an employee fitness center, and an expansive
employee lounge.
Visix is employing a fully-deployed
AxisTV Enterprise visual communications
suite utilizing 27 digital signage displays,
desktop messaging, screensaver publisher,
Extron display device control, and
a Hall Research video over Cat-5 routing
and distribution system. The building also
boasts an array of Visix’s recessed and
surface-mounted interactive Meeting-
Minder room signs.
ALBURQUERQUE, NM—Albuquerque’s Little Theater
hosts a wide range of programming
that includes family theater, musicals, and
shows. With the rapidly approaching FCC
ruling that prohibits the operation of wireless
mics in the 700 MHz band, the Little
Theater not only needed to replace some
its older wireless equipment, but wanted
equipment that didn’t have that ‘wireless’
microphone sound. It is now equipped with
16 Lectrosonics LMa beltpack transmitters
and three Venue series receiver mainframes.
