Rockledge, FL -- Island Systems & Design, a systems integration company offering audio, video, lighting and automation solutions, has been named to the prestigious Hispanic Business 500 for the 7th consecutive year. In its 21st year, the Hispanic Business 500 is a directory of the largest Hispanic-owned companies with annual revenues ranging from $5 million to $2 billion. Total revenues for all Hispanic Business 500 companies totaled $3.95 billion in 2004.
"Being named to the Hispanic Business 500 is a true testament to the hard work and commitment of every employee involved in our organization," said Island Systems & Design CEO, Carlos Gonzalez. "Our continued success and growth is due to successfully developing long-lasting relationships with all of our clients."
This year, Florida has the most companies (122) on the 500 directory, clearly beating longtime winner, California (112)
. On revenue alone, Florida leads the market with $11.8 billion, compared to California's $4.2 billion and Texas with $3.3 billion.
During the last decade, current-dollar revenues of the Hispanic Business 500 have more than doubled--an increase of 148.8 percent. That compares favorably to growth in the U.S GDP of 58.6 percent. In a report by the HispanTelligence, Hispanic entrepreneurs are poised to outperform the general economy for the next several years, a trend already visible in the 2005 Hispanic Business 500.
