Rockledge, FL -- Island Systems & Design, a home-theater company offering audio, visual, lighting and whole-house automation, has been named to the Hispanic Business 500 for the sixth consecutive year.
Now in its 20th year, the Hispanic Business 500 is a directory of the largest Hispanic-owned companies with annual revenues ranging from $5 million to $1.6 billion. Total revenues for all Hispanic Business 500 companies increased 13.9 percent from 2002, reaching $26.31 billion in 2003.
"In an economy facing slow job growth and rocky market conditions, we have managed to successfully transition from survival to a growth mode of operation," said Island Systems & Design CEO Carlos Gonzalez. "With the number of Hispanic-owned businesses continuing to grow, it becomes more of a challenge to make the Hispanic Business 500
. Being named for the sixth year shows our dedication to providing quality services for our clients is a key factor in growing the business."
Florida is home to 120 companies on the list, second only to California, which hosts 121. However, in terms of revenue, Florida companies dominate, representing nearly a third of total revenues for the 500.
"In an increasingly competitive and fast-paced business world, the achievements of companies on the Hispanic Business 500 stand out as an example for Hispanic entrepreneurs nationwide," said Hispanic Business editor and publisher, Jesús Chavarría.
Now in its 25th year, Hispanic Business is a publishing and information services company. Hispanic Business magazine is the company's flagship publication.
