December 11, 2008

SPICELAND, IN—Draper has been recognized for its efforts to reduce energy use in the company’s facilities. Draper was one of 20 companies to receive a 2008 Green-Tint Energy Award from the Indiana Energy Savings Initiative and Westinghouse Corporation. This award is given to Indiana companies who effectively reduce their energy footprint by 50 percent.

Draper received the Green-Tint Energy Award for cutting warehouse energy consumption through the use of Applied Air hybrid heating systems and Westinghouse T5 high efficiency light fixtures.

"We are proud to receive the Green Tint Energy Award, and to be recognized for our efforts to reduce our energy costs" according to Chris Broome, Contract Market Manager for Draper. "We feel a responsibility to the environment, and have made reducing our environmental footprint a priority. It is nice to be recognized for our efforts."

The Indiana Energy Savings Initiative’s goal is to help Indiana corporations save energy, thus keeping them competitive and keeping their jobs in Indiana. Most Indiana industrial and commercial buildings consume between $.89 and $.94 annually per square foot in energy. IESI promotes building efficiency changes to reduce the energy footprint to below $.45 per square foot.
